SUMMARY OF GROUND-BASED AURORAL ACTIVITY SIGHTINGS
               --------------------------------------------------

(Sightings are preliminary and may be unverified)

0907 UTC - (N64.50 W148.50) - Fairbanks
Comments: Even the local weather forecaster said it would be a good
night, and it was. The lively display went strong for 15 minutes or
so, waned and bit and picked up again. It was quite nice in that it
was such a massive display - you didn't know whic way to turn! But
it was not the brightest display I've ever seen even though there
was some distinct pink at the edges of some of the curtains.
