SYNOPTICAL INFORMATION
----------------------

     Auroral activity is now summarized by the presence (or absense) of
ground-based sighting reports. Forecast conditions can be inferred through
the geomagnetic activity forecast section of the daily summary report of
solar and geophysical activity. Near real-time conditions can be determined

               SUMMARY OF GROUND-BASED AURORAL ACTIVITY SIGHTINGS

1009 UTC - (N69.00 W154.50) - Kuparuk, Alaska 
           Comments: From 12:30 am to 01:30 am there were som e pretty good
           shows. From horizon to horizon. Very light in color. Got really
           intense for about 30 minutes and moving pretty fast. The bonus was
           a green meteor with a well lit vapor trail. I was taking ictures
           which was kind of hard to do once the moon came up. For the most
           part they were directly in line with the moon.
