SYNOPTICAL INFORMATION
----------------------
Auroral activity is now summarized by the presence (or absense) of
ground-based sighting reports. Forecast conditions can be inferred through
the geomagnetic activity forecast section of the daily summary report of
solar and geophysical activity. Near real-time conditions can be determined

SUMMARY OF GROUND-BASED AURORAL ACTIVITY SIGHTINGS

0245 UTC - (N46.50 W090.75) - Lutsen, MN
Comments: 10 miles NE of Lutsen, MN. Limiting mag 6.8. Discrete
arc just above the horizon a bit more than a diffuse glow but,
mostly static unmoving yet bright under dark sky's. Also, some
vertical thin long curtains moving across the sky E to W 45degrees
above horizon, a few faint green patches. At times some red's, and
purples just above arc on the horizon. photos @

0311 UTC - (N45.00 W091.50) - Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin
Comments: 9:30 cst March 27th Auroras are out. Let your eyes adjust
and you'll see the beams. I'm in West Central Wisconsin and plan on
going out again. For those of you further north, I'm sure there
will be no need to let your eyes adjust. I'm sure the'll be in your
