SUMMARY OF GROUND-BASED AURORAL ACTIVITY SIGHTINGS
--------------------------------------------------
(Sightings are preliminary and may be unverified)
0106 UTC - (N44.25 W090.00) - 9 E. Janesville, WI
Comments: Faint green arc visible about 15 degrees off northern
horizon. It is early in the evening, and hopefully intensity will
increase yet!
0125 UTC - (N45.75 W094.50) - McGregor, MN
Comments: The bright cloud surprised me tonight while driving home.
It was featureless but quite bright. I stopped and photographed it
and, sure enough, it glowed green. Hooray!
A few short-lived rays were visible along the horizon about an hour
ago but they have disappeared.
0150 UTC - (N43.00 W084.50) - East of St. Johns, Michigan
Comments: A nice aurora arc developed ray activity at about UT
02:45. The rays continued active for about 20 minutes before the
display weakened.
0200 UTC - (N43.43 W080.23) - Fergus, Ontario, Canada
Comments: Diffused green glow visible through clouds. This was
greater when breaks in clouds were seen.
0300 UTC - (N43.28 W076.33) - Oswego NY
Comments: Its good to finally get a sighting here in Oswego, Might
go out to the lake again later to see if theyt are good again.
0718 UTC - (N68.25 W153.75) - Fairbanks, Alaska
Comments: Spotted near Fox, Alaska. Faint but pretty. Clouds got in
the way after about 30 minutes.
