SUMMARY OF GROUND-BASED AURORAL ACTIVITY SIGHTINGS
--------------------------------------------------
(Sightings are preliminary and may be unverified)
0559 UTC - (N64.08 W145.58) - Delta Junction, Alaska
Comments: The sun had set a little after 8pm Alaska time and by 930
pm (0530 UTC), it was dark enough to be able to see the faint
glows. Can't really tell whats going on because clouds are
covering 80% of the skies.
0700 UTC - (N60.25 W151.50) - Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
Comments: Very active tall rays to about 60 degrees visible
throughout the northern sky around 11:30 p.m local time. Came and
went within 10 minutes except for persistant but faint rays in the
east lasting another half an hour. Diffuse glow and diffuse rc has
remained for last hour with occasional faint rays.
