SYNOPTICAL INFORMATION
----------------------

     Auroral activity is now summarized by the presence (or absense) of
ground-based sighting reports. Forecast conditions can be inferred through
the geomagnetic activity forecast section of the daily summary report of
solar and geophysical activity. Near real-time conditions can be determined

0145 UTC - (N43.50 W085.50) - Troy,Michigan 
           Comments: My wife & I observed auroral action (for the first time)
           while returning home late last evening.I have found no one else who
           has seen  
           this phenomenon nor are there any media reports  
           to substantiate our claims.I have watched far too many "Dicovery"
           episodes to have misdiagnosed  
           this observation
