SYNOPTICAL INFORMATION
----------------------

     Auroral activity is now summarized by the presence (or absense) of
ground-based sighting reports. Forecast conditions can be inferred through
the geomagnetic activity forecast section of the daily summary report of
solar and geophysical activity. Near real-time conditions can be determined

               SUMMARY OF GROUND-BASED AURORAL ACTIVITY SIGHTINGS

0450 UTC - (N55.90 W105.15) - La Ronge Sk. Canada 
           Comments: I was coming home just before 11pm local time. There was
           some wave movement a tinge of color and the arc was moderately
           bright in the north east. There was also a secondary faint arc
           higher in the horizon that seemed to have some rapid movmentin it.
           The Lights faded fast and did not seem to continue. 
 
0459 UTC - (N60.00 W112.00) - fort smith, nt 
           Comments: long narrow curtains from eat to west horizons
