SUMMARY OF GROUND-BASED AURORAL ACTIVITY SIGHTINGS
               --------------------------------------------------

(Sightings are preliminary and may be unverified)

0435 UTC - (N55.60 W105.15) - La Ronge SK Canada
Comments: The display tonight streched from the nothern horizon to
45 degrees above the the southern. Most of the auroras were faint
to modrate intensity but some were quite bright with a hint of
           color.

0520 UTC - (N46.10 W091.00) - Hayward, Wisconsin
Comments: Distinct light green to white glow at about 30 degrees
from the horizon, medium bright beam or ray to about 45 degrees.
Display could be ongoing, I just walked down to the lake to check
it out. It's only about 2 degrees out, so I didn't staymore than
about 20 minutes. I live in the middle of the Chequamegon National
           Forest, beautiful clear sky tonight.

0612 UTC - (N47.25 W092.25) - duluth, mn
Comments: Went for a drive out in the country after feeling that
sense. Not too much activity. After the onset of a defined arc
some rays and beams appeared. Most of these sightings lasted only
5-10 minutes at a time. It was just too frigid to stay ut any
longer so those brave enough to bear it, happy sights!

0631 UTC - (N44.25 W091.50) - Chippewa Falls, West Central WIsconsin 12:30am
Comments: Extremly cold tonight with wind chill -15f. Faint green
AU with bands flickering faintly within green glow. Bright stars
crystal clear night. Good luck Western Wisconsoners!!!
